The Challenge
Epic High School North needed additional ELA Regents support for students who had not yet demonstrated the skills required to pass the exam. Several students were preparing for another attempt and needed dedicated time, individualized instruction, and stronger confidence ahead of the June Regents.
The Approach
Toolkit Tutors placed Lela Chapman, a bilingual ELA Regents tutor, to provide pull-out instruction in small groups. Lela reviewed students' prior exam performance, identified individual skill gaps, and used focused study sessions to build exam readiness over the spring cycle.
Lela worked closely with Assistant Principal Meghan Hausdorf to coordinate student support and respond as scheduling and student needs evolved. The consistent placement allowed Lela to build relationships with students while keeping instruction focused on each learner's next steps.
