Business of Sports School

Business of Sports School had seniors who were still missing Regents exams needed for graduation. The fall cycle focused specifically on seven students in temporary housing who had not yet earned a passing U.S. History score.

Starting in the fall semester gave the school an opportunity to support this STH cohort early in the academic year, before graduation requirements became a more urgent year-end barrier.

During fall 2025, Amanda led small-group, pull-out U.S. History Regents sessions for the seven-student cohort. Working outside the regular classroom gave students a focused setting to revisit content, practice Regents skills, and address the specific gaps reflected in their baseline scores.

Consistent participation was central to the program. School leadership later emphasized that every student who actively attended tutoring passed.

Five of the seven students passed the U.S. History Regents after tutoring, compared with zero students at baseline. Every student increased their score, and average growth across the cohort was 8.9%.

The results showed that focused early support could move STH students toward a key graduation requirement, while also underscoring the importance of regular attendance for realizing the program's full benefit.
